We always rode bikes when we were kids. Up and down the neighbourhood with the other kids. No wonder its easy to keep your weight off when your younger. Exercise is part of your play. I knew I could not walk the walking machine everyday so I needed some variety. And the bike machine just seemed boring to me. I also like exercise that has some other purpose. So I bought a bike. On Saturday mornings I would set myself some tasks which I could cycle to! There is a great bread shop a few blocks from our apartment so I cycle there and get the 'healthy' fresh bread. A good friend also lives a few blocks away so I would cycle over to see her.
Then I decided to up the ante and start riding to work. This required leaving earlier for work as it took longer to get there, and I need to change my clothes once I arrive all hot and sweaty. But it worked out to be worth it - after cycling to work I feel focused and calm and ready to work by the time I get there.
